Text Ad Exchanges just recently became a popular alternative to Traffic Exchanges and Safelists, combining the advertising and the exchange aspects.
If you have been involved in Internet Marketing in the last year, you could have witnessed Text Ad Exchanges being born almost every day, and at some point you must have paused and said to yourself: “Well, if there's already so many of them, they cannot be too effective, can they?”
You also might have tried them and worked hard to figure out how to monetize your free ads on Text Ad Exchange Sites, in vain. There were just too many ways to post and earn advertising credits, and you just simply couldn't keep record of your credits, the advertising credits needed to redeem for example for a Solo Ad, or you just kept on posting Text ads and Html Ads, just to get 1-2 clicks, and in the end you just gave up.

How many members has it acquired since? (anything above 800 are good
within 1-2 months).
How may upgraded and JV members has the site got?
(the more the better, as that means there are going to be special offers, options to send Mega and Super Solos to combined membership of multiple sites.)
Does it offer enough benefits on joining so you are able to start a campaign and test the site? (enough points on joining or can collect enough points due to free upgrades).
Basic Fact: The more ways you are offered to advertise on a site the more chances you have to find the most effective way and get the most out of your free advertising credits.
Fact 2: The more members the site has the more people are going to read your ads. (anything above 1000 is excellent, although you run the risk that you won't automatically receive the free upgrade over 1000 members. So the ideal number for me would really be just under 1000 members.)
The more upgraded members are there on your level the more competition you have. A benefit that has been offered ad redeemed by 1000 other people as well as you is not really an advantage.

Free advertising methods Explained...
On Text Ad Exchanges you can buy advertising with points or PayPal/Alertpay order.
It depends on the urgency of your given campaign and the effectiveness of the advertising method offered which one to choose.
The basic advertising available on all the sites are:
Text Ads (1 point is deducted of your balance for 1 visit, and your ad is in the system for 24 hours from posting, you have to repost every day.)
Html Ads (same as above but you can use a html email ad instead of a 1-line text.)
With the ads above you have no influence on how many clicks you will receive, it depends on the members. )
Traffic links (you buy these with your points and depending on the amount of points you have used you are going to get 50-100-500-1000 clicks on your ad, that means your ad will stay in the system until it received the number of clicks you have paid for.

Skills and Gmail!
I mentioned in the beginning that you should use Gmail and only Gmail in Text Ad Exchanges.
But if you only join 10 sites initially, you can get snowed in and you will end up hunting for credits.
I'll give you my receipe to keep on op of your solo ads, that you would like to concentrate on, as they will pay the most credits, obviously!
1.You open a Gmail account and register it with the text ad exchanges
2.Create a label in Gmail filtering emails (create a filter > had the words > Solo .
3.You name this label 'solo' and save it.
4.Create another filter named Supersolo or Megasolo or anything your exchange would send you and has a high point value the same way.
5.Repeat the steps if needed.
6.Now you will have your labels on the side (new stuff from Gmail you can colour code them, too), you just have to click the label to read the solos and get the credits needed to advertise.
